Specifications MACROVISION COPYRIGHT PROTECTION DIRECTV UPGRADES The DIRECTV® HD DVR incorporates copyright protection technology that is protected by U.S. patents and other intellectual property rights. Use of this copyright protection technology must be authorized by Macrovision, and is intended for home and other limited pay per view uses only unless otherwise authorized by Macrovision. Reverse engineering or disassembly is prohibited. U.S. patent Nos. 4,631,603, 4,577,216, 4,819,098 and 4,907,093 licensed for limited pay per view uses only. Your HD DVR is able to receive upgrades or modifications to some of its features and functions. These modifications will occur automatically, usually at times when the HD DVR would not be in use. If your HD DVR is in use when an upgrade or modification is sent, you may experience a disruption in reception for a minute or two. Your reception should return to normal after the modification is complete. Your HD DVR must be plugged in to receive the upgrade. Do not unplug your receiver while an upgrade is in progress.
