Try copying the file to a different disk or use a larger capacity disk. Reinstall the memory modules and, if necessary, replace them. See "Memory" on page 112. GENERAL FAILURE - The operating system is unable to carry out the command. The message is usually followed by specific information-for example, Printer out of paper. Take the appropriate action. HA RD- D IS K D RI VE C O N F I G U R A T I O N ER R O R - The computer cannot identify the drive type. Shut down the computer, remove the hard drive (see page 108), and boot the computer from a CD. Then shut down the computer, reinstall the hard drive, and restart the computer. Run the HardDisk Drive tests in the Dell Diagnostics (see page 77). HA RD- D IS K D RI VE C O N T R O L L E R F A I L U R E 0 - The hard drive does not respond to commands from the computer. INSERT BOOTA BLE MEDIA - The operating system is trying to boot to a nonbootable CD. Insert a bootable CD. I N V A L I D C O N F I G U R A T I O N I N F O R M A T I O N - P L E A S E R U N S YS T E M S E T U P P R O G R A M - The system configuration information does not match the hardware configuration. The message is most likely to occur after a memory module is installed. Correct the appropriate options in the system setup program (see "Using the System Setup Program" on page 137). KEYBOARD C L O CK LI NE FAIL URE - For external keyboards, check the cable connection. Run the Keyboard Controller test in the Dell Diagnostics (see page 77). KEYBOARD CONTROLLER FA ILURE - For external keyboards, check the cable connection. Restart the computer, and avoid touching the keyboard or the mouse during the boot routine.
