(Main unit) 2 Press the SURROUND PARAMETER button. Press and hold in the surround parameter button to select the parameter you want to set. • The parameters which can be set differ for the different surround modes. (Refer to "Surround Modes and Parameters" on page 23.) (Main unit) 3 Display the parameter you want to adjust, then turn the SELECT knob to set it. NOTE: • When playing PCM digital signals or analog signals in the 5CH STEREO, ROCK ARENA, JAZZ CLUB, VIDEO GAME, MONO MOVIE or MATRIX surround modes and the input signal switches to a digital signal encoded in Dolby Digital, the Dolby surround mode switches automatically. When the input signal switches to a DTS signal, the mode automatically switches to DTS surround. Surround parameters e ROOM SIZE: This sets the size of the sound field. There are five settings: "small", "med.s" (medium-small), "medium", "med.l" (medium-large) and "large". "small" recreates a small sound field, "large" a large sound field. EFFECT LEVEL: This sets the strength of the surround effect. The level can be set in 15 steps from 1 to 15. DELAY TIME: In the matrix mode only, the delay time can be set within the range of 0 to 110 ms. 22
