If the "DIGITAL" indicator does not light, check whether the Digital In Assign. setup ( page 42) and connections are correct and whether the component's power is turned on. NOTE: • The "DIGITAL" indicator will light when playing CD-ROMs containing data other than audio signals, but no sound will be heard. Playing audio sources (CDs and DVDs) 2-channel playback modes • The AVR-2106 is equipped with 2-channel playback modes exclusively for music. • Select the mode to suit your tastes. 2 PURE DIRECT mode Use this mode to achieve good quality 2-channel sound while watching images. In this mode, the audio signals bypass such circuits as the tone circuit and display circuit and are transmitted directly, resulting in good quality sound. Press the STEREO/DIRECT/PURE DIRECT button on the main unit or the DIRECT/PURE DIRECT button on the remote control unit to select the PURE DIRECT mode. 2 DIRECT mode Use this mode to achieve good quality 2-channel sound while watching images. In this mode, the audio signals bypass such circuits as the tone circuit and are transmitted directly, resulting in good quality sound.
