Example: CD (Main unit) (Remote control unit) To select the input source when ZONE2 SELECT, ZONE3/REC SELECT or TUNING PRESET is selected, press the SOURCE button on the main unit then operate the input function selector. 2 Start playback on the selected component. For operating instructions, refer to the component's manual. 3 Adjust the volume. The volume can be adjusted within the range of -80 to +18 dB, in steps of 0.5 dB. However, when the channel level is set ( page 64, 65 or 128 ~ 130), if the volume for any channel is set at +0.5 dB or greater, the volume cannot be adjusted up to 18 dB. (In this case the maximum volume adjustment range is "18 dB - (Maximum value of channel level)".) Also, you may not be able to adjust the volume to the maximum of 18 dB when internal volume compensation control is activated due to the combination of the surround mode and parameters, downmixing from multi-channel audio signals into two channels, etc. ¢ To choose the surround sound mode Example: HOME THX CINEMA Press the HOME THX CINEMA button. For more information about the surround modes ( page 50 ~ 53). Playing the input source

Select the input source to be played.
Example:

Start playback on the selected component.

Adjust the volume.
The volume can be adjusted within the range of –80 to
+18 dB, in steps of 0.5 dB. However, when the
channel level is set (
page 64, 65 or 128 ~ 130), if
the volume for any channel is set at +0.5 dB or greater,
the volume cannot be adjusted up to 18 dB. (In this
case the maximum volume adjustment range is “18 dB
— (Maximum value of channel level)”.)
Also, you may not be able to adjust the volume to the
maximum
of
18
dB
when

compensation control is activated due to the
combination of the surround mode and parameters,
