100 Chapter 6 Exchanging Messages To delete one or more text messages in the thread 1. In the SMS / MMS Inbox, tap a message thread to open it. 2. Tap to select a message in the thread. To select several messages, tap Menu > Select Messages > Several, and then tap each message you want to delete. 3. Tap Menu > Delete. To delete all messages in a thread In the SMS / MMS Inbox, tap and hold a message thread, and then tap Delete. Directly making calls from text messages While you are viewing a text message on the Home screen's Messages tab or in your Inbox, you can directly call the sender of the message, if the sender's phone number is stored in your contacts. 1. While viewing the text message, press the TALK/SEND button. 2. The Phone dialer screen then opens, with the sender's phone number automatically filled in and ready to be dialed. To place the call, press TALK/SEND again. Tapping a phone number that is contained in a text message also allows you to call that number.

To delete one or more text messages in the thread
1.
In the SMS / MMS Inbox, tap a message thread to open it.
2.
Tap to select a message in the thread. To select several messages, tap 
Menu >
Select Messages > Several
, and then tap each message you want to delete.
3.
Tap 
Menu > Delete
.
To delete all messages in a thread
In the SMS / MMS Inbox, tap and hold a message thread, and then tap 
Delete
.
Directly making calls from text messages
While you are viewing a text message on the Home screen’s 
Messages
tab or in 
your Inbox, you can directly call the sender of the message, if the sender’s phone 
number is stored in your contacts.
1.
While viewing the text message, press the TALK/SEND button.
2.
The Phone dialer screen then opens, with the sender’s phone number 
automatically filled in and ready to be dialed. To place the call, press 
TALK/SEND again.
Tapping a phone number that is contained in a text message also allows you to call 
that number.
