depressed.

Page 15 highlights

The Citation Receiver allows you to make tape-to-tape copies, even while simultaneously listening to a separate program source. Depressing the DUB switch connects the outputs of TAPE 1 to the inputs of TAPE 2, and the outputs of TAPE 2 to the inputs of TAPE 1. Thus you may record in either direction. Either tape deck can be monitored when the appropriate TAPE switch is depressed. Using the Tone Controls The BASS, MID RANGE, and TREBLE controls each affect the frequency content of theprogram material ofboth channels simultaneously Their neutralpositions are at 12 o'clock. Turning the TREBLE control clockwise. for example, raises the high frequency content of the music. Turning the control counterclockwise lowers the high frequency content, The MID RANGE controlhas the same effect on the middle frequencies while the BASS control affects low frequencies. 7,77 •C•MW- 3.4. • BASS MID RANGE TREBLE BALANCE CONTROL CONTROL CONTROL CONTROL low cut switch tone defeat switch high cut switch VOLUME CONTROL contour switch The TONE DEFEAT switch is mounted concentrically on the MID RANGE control. Rotating the switch clockwise to the ON position defeats the action of the BASS, MID RANGE. and TREBLE controls to allow for.the critical evaluation of their effect. The LOW CUT switch is mounted concentrically on the BASS control. In the ON position, this switch activates a filter to reduce the very low frequency content of program material. Low frequency problems, such as the excess rumble contained on some commercial discs. can be effectively reduced with this filter. The HIGH CUT switch is mounted concentrically on the TREBLE control. in the ON position, the switch activates a filter to reduce the very high frequency content of program material. Tape hiss and similar problems can be reduced with this filter. The CONTOUR switch is mounted concentrically on the VOLUME control. When the CONTOUR is ON, the very high and very low frequency content of program materialis boosted at low settings of the VOLUME control. This action compensates for the human ear's relative insensitivity to extreme frequencies at low volumelevels. As the VOLUME controlisadvanced, the CONTOUR effect decreases. The CONTOUR switchhas no effectat VOLUME controlsettings beyond 12 o'clock. Maintaining the Appearance of the Citation Receiver Remove dust or smudges from the acrylic front and top windows with diluted liquid glass cleaner applied with a soft cloth. Do not use a strong solvent-type cleaner or ammonia. Do not let the cleaning fluid touch the rosewood top panel. Clean the anodized aluminum front and side panels with mild, diluted detergent applied with a soft cloth or cotton swab. Never use a strong abrasive cleaner. The finish of the rosewood top panel can be maintained with light periodic applications of linseed or lemon oil. 13
