Provides a secure managed directory-based authentication for user names and passwords, as well as access control. User rights and user accounts are stored in the directory. For more information on LDAP Access Control, see "Using directory services integration (on page 200)." Configuring user accounts The Users category enables you to configure user accounts. There are two types of user accounts: internal and external. Internal accounts, such as Local Authentication accounts, reside within the console switch, while external accounts, such as LDAP Authentication and Access Control accounts, are stored in the directory. When you select the Users category for the first time, the Manage Console Switch function retrieves and displays user information and current access levels based on the type of authentication you have selected. • When Local Authentication or LDAP Authentication Only modes are enabled, the Manage Console Switch retrieves and displays a list of user names and current access levels from the console switch.
