Bottom shield, Lift the tape from on top of the bottom shield

Bottom shield Description Bottom shield Spare part number L17267-001 Before removing the bottom shield, follow these steps: 1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. 3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 4. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 17). 5. Remove the rear I/O bracket (see Rear I/O bracket on page 20). Remove the bottom shield: 1. Lift the tape from on top of the bottom shield (1). 2. Remove the four Phillips M2.5×4.0 screws (2) that secure the shield to the computer. IMPORTANT: A cable connects from the system board to the bottom shield. Be sure not to accidentally disconnect this cable when removing the bottom shield. 3. Lift and rotate the bottom shield to gain access to the cable underneath (1). Component replacement procedures 21

Before removing the bottom shield, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is
off
or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by
first
unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and
then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4.
Remove the bottom cover (see
Bottom cover
on page
17
).
5.
Remove the rear I/O bracket (see
Rear I/O bracket
on page
20
).
Remove the bottom shield:
1.
Lift the tape from on top of the bottom shield
(1)
.
2.
Remove the four Phillips M2.5×4.0 screws

that secure the shield to the computer.
IMPORTANT:
A cable connects from the system board to the bottom shield. Be sure not to accidentally
disconnect this cable when removing the bottom shield.
3.
