Identity Authentication Use this page to choose an identity authentication method: ● Pre-Shared Key ● Certificates ● Kerberos Identity Authentication page items are described below. Table 5-8 Identity Authentication page Item Description Pre-Shared Key If you will use a pre-shared key for authentication, select Pre-Shared Key. In the field provided, enter a pre-shared key (ASCII string) that is shared by all hosts specified by this rule. If a pre-shared key is used, it should be protected; any host that knows this key may be authenticated. Certificates If you will use certificates for authentication, select Certificates. A self-signed Jetdirect certificate is pre-installed by factory default, and can be replaced. In addition, a CA certificate must be installed for server authentication. ● Status indicates whether a certificate is installed, or not installed. ● Click View to view the certificate data of an installed certificate.. ● Click Configure to manage or install a certificate. For information on requesting, configuring and installing certificates, see Configuring Certificates on page 88. Kerberos Select Kerberos for Kerberos authentication. The status of Kerberos authentication will be displayed (Configured or Not Configured. If Kerberos has been configured, click View to view the Kerberos configuration data. Click Configure to configure Kerberos authentication. Kerberos For Kerberos configuration, choose to configure the Jetdirect print server for Kerberos authentication manually, or by importing configuration files.
