Three Types of PDUs Placement of PDUs To determine where the PDU mounts, eliminate positions directly behind the equipment listed in Table 2-2. (PDUs conflict with these units when mounted in the same space). Then decide the most convenient location. The PDU can be mounted vertically using the non-EIA mounting holes on the outer edges of the vertical columns, or it can be mounted horizontally between the columns. With the extended rear brackets that come with the LPr, you can also mount a PDU directly behind a LPr. Figure 2-3 shows possible PDU positions and orientations. 17

Placement of PDUs
To determine where the PDU mounts, eliminate positions directly behind the
equipment listed in Table 2-2. (PDUs conflict with these units when mounted in
the same space). Then decide the most convenient location. The PDU can be
mounted vertically using the non-EIA mounting holes on the outer edges of the
vertical columns, or it can be mounted horizontally between the columns.
With the extended rear brackets that come with the LPr, you can also mount a
PDU directly behind a LPr.
