Chapter 3 Cabling Reference Information Note 1. For 100 VAC systems, separately orderable cables and UPS are available. Note 2. Consult American Power Corporation (APC) for model number of 100 VAC unit. Note 3. For 100 VAC, order a PDU power cord with appropriate connector. Wide-Ranging PDU Configurations Use of four possible 208 - 240 VAC PDU configurations depends upon the power requirements of the devices in the rack. Table 3-2 shows the characteristics used to determine how many PDUs are supplied with each rack configuration. In configurations that use a wide-ranging 10-amp PDU, it will always be plugged into a wide-ranging 16-amp PDU. Table 3-2. The cord which attaches it to the power source is ordered separately, specifying the cord end required. Note 2 The E7672A includes one 16-amp PDU, one 10 amp PDU, and the cord which attaches them together. The cord which attaches the 16 amp PDU to the power source is ordered separately, specifying the cord end required. Note 3 The 10-amp PDU can be ordered as an accessory using part number E7670A. Your wide-ranging PDU configuration is determined using this table and by application of the following guidelines: 1. One 16-amp PDU is supplied for each Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) in a rack. 2. The total number of each kind of receptacle is figured for equipment to be mounted in each rack. 48
