Clean the device Over time, particles of toner and paper accumulate inside the device. This can cause print-quality problems during printing. Cleaning the device eliminates or reduces these problems. Clean the paper path and print-cartridge areas every time that you change the print cartridge or whenever print-quality problems occur. As much as possible, keep the device from dust and debris. Clean the exterior Use a soft, damp, lint-free cloth to wipe dust, smudges, and stains off of the exterior of the device. Clean the ADF If the ADF has trouble feeding documents, clean the ADF pickup roller assembly. 1. Turn off the device and unplug the power cord. 2. Open the ADF cover. 3. Press the round blue button while lifting the green lever. Rotate the green lever until it stops in the open position.
