Controlling TV playback The personal video recorder functionality lets you record single shows or capture entire series for later viewing. When you open the My TV window and begin watching live TV, Media Center begins recording the selected program in the background for up to 30 minutes. Searching for TV programs using categories You can search the Guide to find a TV program by selecting a category using your remote control.
