Speakers Description Speakers (includes cables) Spare part number 926857-001 Before removing the speakers, follow these steps: 1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove the optical drive (see Optical drive on page 36), and then remove the following components: a. Bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 37) b. Battery (see Battery on page 39) c. Solid-state drive (see Solid-state drive on page 43) d. Fan (see Fan on page 49) e. System board (see System board on page 50) Remove the speakers: 1. Release the power connector cable from the retention clips (1) and routing channel built into the right speaker. 2. Release the speaker cable from the retention clips (2) and routing channel built into the keyboard/ top cover. 3. Remove the two Phillips PM2.0×2.9 screws (3) that secure the speakers to the keyboard/top cover. 66 Chapter 5 Removal and replacement procedures
