Turning On Your Computer First, press the Power button on your display. Then, to turn on your computer, press the On button on the front of the PC. On button Turning Off Your Computer There is only one way to turn off your computer correctly. To turn off the computer: 1 Exit all software programs. (To close programs, click X in the upper right corner of each window.) 2 Click Start on the taskbar. 3 Click Shut Down (last item on the menu). 4 In the dialog box, make sure Shut down is selected. 5 Click Yes. 6 Turn off your display. Caution: Pressing the computer’s On button when software is running could corrupt your files. 26 Getting Started
