Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off/or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. Before removing the display assembly, follow these steps: 1. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 34). 2. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 35). 3. Remove the TouchPad (see TouchPad on page 37). 4. Remove the fans (see Fans on page 44). 5. Remove the system board (see System board on page 46). Remove the display assembly: 1. Disconnect the left display cable (1), and then disconnect the right display cable (2). Display assembly 51

IMPORTANT:
Make special note of each screw and screw lock size and location during removal
and replacement.
1.
Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off/or in Hibernation, turn the computer
on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
Before removing the display assembly, follow these steps:

Remove the bottom cover (see

3.

4.
Remove the fans (see

).
5.
Remove the system board (see

Remove the display assembly:

Disconnect the left display cable
