NOTE: If you use a serial console, you must enter all commands through the active CP card unless otherwise indicated. For command details, refer to the HP StorageWorks command reference guide for the Fabric OS version running on your switch. a. Determine which CP card is active. (Check the Active CP LED or enter the haShow command through either a serial or telnet session.) b. Connect the serial cable to the active CP card. c. Disable any serial communication programs running on the workstation (such as synchronization programs). d. Insert one of the serial cables into the terminal serial port on the active CP card (the terminal serial port is the second serial port from the top of the CP card). e. Connect the other end of the serial cable to a serial port on the workstation. If necessary, remove the adapter on the serial cable to allow for a serial RJ45 connection. f. Open the terminal emulator application and configure as follows: • Bits per second: 9600 • Databits: 8 • Parity: None • Stop bits: 1 • Flow control: None g. When the terminal emulator application stops reporting information, press Enter and log in as admin (the default password is password). Fabric OS (swDir) swDir login: admin Password: swDir:admin> h.
