A list of blade ports is most commonly used by ASIC-level tests such as cmiTest or turboRamTest and represents which ports on the current blade (specified with --slot number) are tested. A list of user ports is used by the higher-level tests, such as spinSilk or crossPortTest, to specify which user-accessible external ports within the current switch (selected during telnet login) are tested. When specified in an item list, user ports might be specified by either the area portion of the ports Fibre Channel address or with slot/port notation. For nonblade systems, the port number on the silkscreen is the area number, so the two notations are identical. The exact type of list required for any input parameter might be determined with the diagCommandShow test command. For item list parameters, the parameter type is PT_LIST and the list type is one of those shown in the table.
