2 Note: Enter commands in lowercase only; mixed case is for readability. userRename userRename Renames the user login name. Synopsis userrename old_username new_username Description Use this command to change an existing account login name to a new login name. The following rules apply: • new_username must begin with a letter and contain only alphanumeric characters or underscores. • new_username must be between 1 and 40 characters long. • new_username must be different from any existing account login name. • If old_username is a default login name, new_username cannot be another default login name. • If new_username is a default login name, it must indicate the same role as old_username. When using Brocade Secure Fabric OS, rename the admin-level login name to the Brocade-specific default of admin and the user-level login name to the Brocade-specific default of user before enabling security; otherwise, the switch is not allowed in the secure fabric. Note This command is not supported on all platforms. Note The execution of this command is subject to Admin Domain restrictions that may be in place. Operands The following operands are required: old_username The current user login name new_username The new user login name Note These operands are case sensitive.
