Maintenance schedule Before each use Engine Do a check of the engine oil level. X Change the engine oil (models with oil filter). Change the engine oil (models without oil filter). Clean the air filter. Clean the air screen. Do an inspection of the muffler and the spark arrester. Replace the oil filter (if it is equipped). Clean the engine cooling fins. Replace the spark plug. Tacky lubricants can attach dirt. The dirt decreases the life of the special nylon bearings.
