To access the Console Menu and select an option, complete the following steps: 1. Turn on the appliance. The appliance initializes for approximately one minute. 2. After initialization completes, press any key on the keyboard of the terminal or the computer running the terminal emulation software. The Console Main menu opens. NOTE: The terminal can be connected at any time, even after the appliance is turned on. 3. Type the number of an option and press Enter. Network Configuration Menu The Network Configuration Menu is for configuring static or DHCP addressing. If static IP addressing is enabled, then other options can be selected to configure the static IP address, netmask, default gateway, and DNS servers. You can use option 7 to send a ping to a specific IP address. Figure 5.2: Network Configuration Menu To configure network settings using the Console Menu, complete the following steps: 1. Access the Console Main menu. 2. Type 1 and press Enter for the Network Configuration option. The Network Configuration menu opens.

Network Configuration Menu
The
