Message ERROR: PROGRAM NOT COMPATIBLE ERROR: PROGRAM NOT VALID ERROR: SECURITY PAL NOT DETECTED ERROR: SHORT AT ADDRESS XXXX ERROR: WRITING TO FLASH ERROR: WRONG CHECKSUM LOADING PROGRAM FROM PORT XX% Explanation Required Action The printer is not compatible with the downloaded program. User tried to load CMX-compatible diskette in CBO-controlled printer, or vice versa. The printer does not see a program in flash memory. The security PAL is not present or has failed. Hardware failure in DRAM or CMX controller circuitry. Hardware or software fault in flash memory. The printer received the complete program but the checksum did not match. The data were corrupted during download. The new program is loading into printer RAM. XX indicates how much of the program has loaded. Use the correct emulation software option(s) for this model. If the printer is an IBM 6404-B01, the controller is a CBO board. If the printer is an IBM 6400, the controller is a CMX board. There is no program in printer memory. Go to step 2. Check the security PAL at location U54 on the CMX controller. If the PAL is absent, install the correct PAL. If security PAL is present, replace the CMX controller board. Replace DRAM. If message occurs with new DRAM, replace CMX controller board. Download the program again: Power off the printer and start over at step 13. If the message occurs again, replace the flash memory.
