3 BASIC OPERATION ■ Call channel programming The Call channel is used to select Channel 9 (default), however, you can program the Call channel with your most oftenused channels in each channel group for quick recall. q While holding down [H/L], push [CH/WX] several times to select the desired channel group (U.S.A., International or Canada) to be programmed. w Hold down [16•9] for 1 second to select the Call channel of the selected channel group. • "%#.." and the Call channel number appear. e Hold down [16•9] again for 3 seconds (until a long beep changes to 2 short beeps) 9 +06 6#) %#.. to enter the Call channel programming mode. • Channel number starts blink- ’0 ’9 76 0) ing. r Rotate [SELECTOR] to select the desired channel. 9 +06 &72 %#.. t Push [16•9] to program the displayed channel as the Call channel. • Push [CLR] to cancel. ’0 ’9 76%  +06. • The channel number stops blinking. 10 ■ Microphone lock function The Microphone lock function electrically locks [Y]/[Z] and [HI/LO] keys on the supplied microphone. This prevents accidental channel changes and function access. ➥ While holding down [HI/LO] on the microphone, turn ON the power to turn the Microphone lock function ON or OFF. [Y]/[Z] [HI/LO] ■ Display backlight The function display and keys can be backlit for better visibility under low light conditions. ➥ After pushing [O], push [3• DIM ] then rotate [SELECTOR] to adjust the brightness of the LCD and key backlight, then push [ENT]. • The backlight is adjustable in 7 levels, or set to OFF.

Call channel programming
The Call channel is used to select Channel 9 (default), how-
