To update the CN50 using SmartSystems Foundation: 1 On your desktop PC, open the SmartSystems Foundation console. 2 Make sure the SmartSystems Foundation console and the computer are on the same subnet. 3 Make sure the computer is in a charge dock or communications dock, or that device power management is disabled. 4 Download the SmartSystems bundle to your PC. 5 Double-click the .exe file on your PC. An InstallShield application starts. 6 From the SmartSystems console, locate the bundle(s) to install. 7 Drag the application to each computer you want to update or to a group of computers in a folder. The SmartSystems console installs the update on your computers. 8 After the download is complete, your CN50 begins the update process and automatically performs a cold boot. The CN50 then boots into a special Update Loader mode where the computer has no connections and is completely unusable. This process can take anywhere from 30 seconds to 15 minutes depending on the update. Note: The SmartSystems console indicates that your CN50 is offline, by displaying a red stop sign symbol, until the CN50 reboots and reconnects to the system. 9 After the update is complete, the CN50 cold boots again.
