Video Stabilizer (VHS deck only) By activating the Video Stabilizer you can correct vertical vibrations in the picture when playing back unstable EP recordings that were made on another VCR. When this function is set to "ON", vertical vibration will be automatically corrected. *The default setting is "OFF". ACCESS MAIN MENU SCREEN 1 Press MENU. 2 ACCESS VHS MODE SET SCREEN Move the highlight bar (arrow) to "VHS MODE SET" by pressing CH5∞ or %fi, then press OK or #. MAIN MENU MODE SET = VHS MODE SET DV MODE SET TUNER SET INITIAL SET PRESS (5,∞), THEN (OK) PRESS (MENU) TO END 3 ACTIVATE VIDEO STABILIZER Move the highlight bar (arrow) to "VIDEO STABILIZER" by pressing CH 5∞ or %fi, then press OK or # to set to "ON". VHS MODE SET S-VHS ET OFF S-VHS MODE ON VIDEO CALIBRATION ON PICTURE CONTROL AUTO DIGITAL TBC/NR ON = VIDEO STABILIZER ON NEXT PAGE SELECT WITH (5,∞) AND (OK) PRESS (MENU) TO END RETURN TO NORMAL SCREEN 4 Press MENU. EN 29 Select The Soundtrack (VHS deck) The VHS deck can record two soundtracks simultaneously (Normal and Hi-Fi) and play back the selected one, or both together. Or, when viewing a pre-recorded tape that contains two separate Hi-Fi audio programs, you can choose to listen to either one by selecting either "Hi-Fi L" or "Hi-Fi R". You can select the soundtrack by simply pressing the remote control's A. MONITOR button as follows: Hi-Fi → Hi-Fi L → Hi-Fi R → Normal → Mix → Hi-Fi NOTE: If the tape being played back has no Hi-Fi soundtrack, the Normal soundtrack will be heard no matter what choice you make. NOTES: ● When you finish viewing the tape, be sure to set it back to "OFF". ● Regardless of the setting, this function has no effect during recording and during special-effects playback. ● The Superimpose mode indications may jitter vertically when "VIDEO STABILIZER" is set to "ON". ● To watch recordings with close-caption, it is necessary to set the Video Stabilizer function to "OFF".
