BEFORE CALLING FOR SERVICE Check the following list to be sure a service call is really necessary. help you avoid an unneeded service call. A quick reference to this manual may THE AIR CONDITIONER WILL NOT OPERATE Check if... Then... Wall plug disconnected. House fuse blown or circuit breaker tripped. Power is OFF. Unit was turned off and then on too quickly, TEMP Control set warmer than room temperature. The current interrupter device is triped AIR FROM UNIT DOES Check if... FAN SPEED set at LOW. NOT FEEL COLD Push plug firmIy into wall outlet. Replace fuse with time delay type or reset circuit breaker. Push the power button. Set unit off and wait 3 minutes before restarting. Set TEMP Control to a tower temperature. Press the RESET button located on the power cord plug If the RESET button wilI not stay engaged, discontinue use of the air conditioner and contact a qualified service technician. ENOUGH. Then... Push FAN SPEED button to set at HIGH. TEMP Control set too warm. Room temperature below 70°F (21°C). Temperature sensing tube touching evaporator coil, located behind front griIle. Set TEMP Control to a lower temperature. Cooling may not occur until room temperature rises above 70°F (21°C). Straighten tube away from evaporator coil THE AIR CONDITIONER COOLINGBU, T ROOM IS TOO WARM-ICEFORMING ON COOLING COIL BEHIND FRONT GRILLE. Check if... Then... Outdoor temperature below 70°F (21°C). To defrost the coil, set the MODE to FAN, Fan speed to High. Air filter may be dirty. Clean air filter. Refer to Maintenance section of owner's manual TEMP Control set too low. To defrostthe coil,set the MODE to Coot, Fan speed to high, and the Temp control to a higher temperature. THE AIR CONDITIONERCOOLING, BUTROOM IS TOO WARM Check if... Then... Dirty air filter- air restricted. TEMP Control set too warm. Front of unit is blocked by drapes, blinds, furniture, etc. Air distribution is restricted. Doors, windows, registers, etc. open. Cold air escapes. Unit recently turned on in hot room. Clean air filter. Refer to Maintenance section of owner's manual Set TEMP Control to a lower temperature. Clear blockage in front of unit. Close doors, windows, registers, etc. Allow additionaltime to removestoredheatfrom wails,ceiling,floor,andfurniture. THE AIR CONDITIONER Check if... TURNS ON AND OFF RAPIDLY. Then...
