Conveyance section (Registration roller) 19.3 Operation 19.3.1 Conveyance speed control • The Transport motor provides drive for the conveyance section. • The conveyance speed is variable in two steps and the appropriate one is selected according to the media type and print mode as detailed below. Media type/print mode Plain paper Thick stock, envelopes, postcards, label, OHP transparencies, glossy paper Conveyance speed 144 mm/s 72 mm/s 19.3.2 Registration roller control • When the media taken up and fed in by the feed roller reaches the registration roller, a loop is formed in the media and media conveyance is temporarily stopped. Conveyance skew is corrected by this loop. • The registration sensor detects whether or not the media has reached the registration roller. • The media fed in is synchronized with the image before media conveyance is restarted. A. Media detection control • When the media fed from the feed roller pushes up the actuator of the registration sen- sor, the sensor is unblocked. With this event occurring, the main body determines that the media has reached the position before the registration roller. 19.3.1
Conveyance speed control
The Transport motor provides drive for the conveyance section.
The conveyance speed is variable in two steps and the appropriate one is selected
according to the media type and print mode as detailed below.
19.3.2
Registration roller control
When the media taken up and fed in by the feed roller reaches the registration roller, a
loop is formed in the media and media conveyance is temporarily stopped. Conveyance
skew is corrected by this loop.
The registration sensor detects whether or not the media has reached the registration
roller.
The media fed in is synchronized with the image before media conveyance is restarted.

Media detection control
When the media fed from the feed roller pushes up the actuator of the registration sen-
