Transfer section (1st transfer) 13.3.6 Transfer belt cleaning mechanism • To scrape residual toner off the surface of the transfer belt, the transfer belt is provided with a cleaning blade. • The cleaning blade is in pressed contact with the transfer belt at all times. That is, it cleans the surface of the transfer belt as long as the belt turns. • The toner scraped off by the cleaning blade is collected to the middle of the transfer belt by the toner collecting screw. • The collected waste toner is conveyed through the waste toner collecting port located at the middle of the transfer belt unit and the suction transport unit, and brought to the waste toner box.
