Messaging Messaging 1. Text message centre: Input the address of the Text message centre. 2. Delivery report: By enabling this option, you can verify whether your message has been sent successfully. 3. Validity period: This network service allows you to set how long your text messages will be stored at the message centre. 4. Message types: Text, Voice, Fax, X.400, Email Usually, the type of message is set to Text. You can convert your text into alternative formats. Contact your service provider for the availability of this function. 5. Character encoding: Auto/ Default alphabet/ Unicode. ] Auto(default): Message with single byte character is normally encoded in Default alphabet(GSM7). Message with double-byte character is automatically encoded in unicode(UCS2). ] Default alphabet: Message with even double byte character is encoded in single byte. Please note that double byte characters with accent may be converted into single byte character without accent. ] Unicode: Message is encoded in double byte. Please note that you may be charged double. 6. Send long text as: Select a long text message as Multiple SMS or MMS. MMS (Menu 6.9.2) You can configure Multimedia message related options. 1. Retrieval mode: You can set the retrieval mode using Home network and Roaming network respectively. If you select Automatic, you will receive multimedia messages automatically. If you select Manual, you will only receive a notification message in the inbox and then you can decide whether to download multimedia messages or not. 50
