The internal temperature of the printer is too high. Wait one hour before restarting the printer. Ensure that the printer has adequate cooling space around it, and that the cooling vents are not blocked. RAM Error Error 016-3xx Restart Printer Additional memory is not installed correctly, not working correctly, or not supported. 1 Turn the printer off. 2 Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. 3 Reinstall the optional memory. 4 Connect the power cord to a properly grounded outlet. 5 Turn the printer back on. If the message appears again, replace the specified additional memory. Remove Tape, Cartridge The sealing tape is still attached to the specified print cartridge. Remove the sealing tape from the specified print cartridge. Replace Print Cartridge Empty Print Cartridge The specified print cartridge is empty. Remove the specified print cartridge, and then install a new one. Replace Print Cartridge Soon The specified print cartridge will soon be exhausted. When Replace Print Cartridge Soon appears or when the print becomes faded, you may be able to extend the life of the print cartridge: 1 Remove the specified print cartridge. 2 Firmly shake the cartridge side-to-side and front-to-back several times to redistribute toner. 3 Reinsert the print cartridge and continue printing. Replace Fuser Soon The fuser life is nearly exhausted. Order a new fuser. Replace Transfer Unit Replace the transfer belt. Understanding printer messages 156
