SETUP MENU (CONTINUED) SPEAKER SETUP MENU: Select Speaker and then select the desired option using the Navigation buttons to navigate through the menus/screens and press the ENTER button to select (see page 17 for details). DOWNMIX SUBWOOFER 1 1 SPEAKER SETUP DOWNMIX SUBWOOFER CENTER DELAY REAR DELAY LT/RT STEREO VSS OFF SPEAKER SETUP DOWNMIX SUBWOOFER OFF CENTER DELAY ON REAR DELAY Select the desired downmix: LT/RT: Choose this setting if the original movie on the disc was recorded in the Pro Logic Dolby Digital format. STEREO: Choose thisSsetting when playing DVD's; two channels of signals will be output from the left and right soundtrack. When playing CD's, a stereo signal will be output to the speakers. VSS: Choose this setting when a disc recorded with 5.1channel sound format is playing; this will produce a virtual surround sound effect from the main soundtrack through the speakers. Off : Downmix Off. Select ON to turn the subwoofer on or OFF to turn the subwoofer off. CENTER DELAY 1 SPEAKER SETUP DOWNMIX SUBWOOFER CENTER DELAY REAR DELAY + 4 MS 2MS 0 MS REAR DELAY 1 SPEAKER SETUP DOWNMIX SUBWOOFER CENTER DELAY REAR DELAY + 12 MS 6 MS 0 MS It is assumed that the distance from the listener to each of the speakers is equal. If not, then set the delay times of the center speaker so that the sound will be heard simultaneously by the listener. Use the slider to set the S Center Delay. It is assumed that the distance from the listener to each of the speakers is equal. If not, then set the delay times of the rear speakers so that the sound will be heard simultaneously by the listener. Use the slider to set the Rear Delay. S NOTE ON USING THE SPEAKERS: When listening to a normal two channel stereo broadcast, sound will only come from the front two speakers. When listening to a dolby 5.1 audio format, all speakers will output. 21
