*INSTALLATION* Installation If the outlet is no longer accessible after installation, an additional means of disconnection must be provided for all poles. Suitable means of disconnection include switches with an all-pole disconnect device with a contact opening of at least 1/8" (3 mm). These can be circuit breakers, fuses, and relays. Connecting the appliance The plug and power cord must not come into contact with the back of the appliance as vibrations can cause damage to these components. This could result in a short circuit. Do not plug other appliances into electrical outlet behind this appliance. Do not connect the appliance to a stand-alone inverter such as those used with an autonomous energy source e.g., solar power. When the appliance is turned on, power surges could result in a safety switchoff. This can damage the electronics. The appliance must not be used with so-called energy saving devices either. These reduce the amount of energy supplied to the appliance, causing it to overheat. Insert the plug into the back of the appliance. Make sure that the plug has clicked into position correctly. Insert the plug into the electrical outlet and switch on. The appliance is now connected to the electricity supply. If the power cord needs to be replaced, this must be performed by a qualified technician. 48
