ProSAFE Dual Band Wireless AC Access Point Model WAC740 Overview Model WAC740 is intended as a controller-managed access point for centralized management with a NETGEAR wireless controller from small (WC7500) to mid-size (WC7600) and large-size (WC9500) deployment. The access point operates with Multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO), provides concurrent operation in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radio bands, and can achieve speeds up to 600 Mbps for 2.4 GHz network and up to 1.7 Gbps for 5 GHz networks. The access point provides one Power over Ethernet plus (PoE+) port (LAN port 1) that can support up to 2.5 Gbps of throughput, enabling a single connection to a 2.5 Gbps-capable switch such as the NETGEAR M4200 Series ProSAFE Managed Switch. The second LAN port (LAN port 2) is intended for a LAG configuration, which enables the throughput to exceed 1 Gbps even if a 2.5 Gbps-capable switch is not present on the other end. Note: Because model WAC740 is not intended as a standalone access point, NETGEAR does not provide a separate user manual for this access point. You must configure the access point through a NETGEAR wireless controller. For information about configuring the access point, see the ProSAFE Wireless Controller Models WC7500, WC7600, WC7600v2, and WC9500 User Manual, which you can download by visiting downloadcenter.netgear.com. ProSAFE Dual Band Wireless AC Access Point Model WAC740
Overview
Model WAC740 is intended as a controller-managed access point for centralized
management with a NETGEAR wireless controller from small (WC7500) to mid-size
(WC7600) and large-size (WC9500) deployment. The access point operates with Multi-user
MIMO (MU-MIMO), provides concurrent operation in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radio bands,
and can achieve speeds up to 600 Mbps for 2.4 GHz network and up to 1.7 Gbps for 5 GHz
networks.
The access point provides one Power over Ethernet plus (PoE+) port (LAN port 1) that can
support up to 2.5 Gbps of throughput, enabling a single connection to a 2.5 Gbps–capable
switch such as the NETGEAR M4200 Series ProSAFE Managed Switch.
The second LAN port (LAN port 2) is intended for a LAG configuration, which enables the
throughput to exceed 1 Gbps even if a 2.5 Gbps–capable switch is not present on the other
end.
Note:
Because model WAC740 is not intended as a standalone access point,
NETGEAR does not provide a separate user manual for this access
point. You must configure the access point through a NETGEAR wireless
controller. For information about configuring the access point, see the
ProSAFE Wireless Controller Models WC7500, WC7600, WC7600v2,
and WC9500 User Manual
