Step 9-Eject and Exit 1 Eject the holder Press the eject button on the front of the scanner or click the eject button in the control area of the scan window. Ejection is complete when the status LED has stopped blinking. Removing Holders Wait until ejection is complete before removing the holder by hand. Eject button 2 Exit the host application Select Exit (Windows) or Quit (Mac OS 9) from the File menu. In Mac OS X, open the application menu and choose the "Quit" option for the host application. 3 Remove the scanner from the system (Windows Me/Windows 98 SE only) Windows Me Shut down the computer and turn the power off. Windows 98 SE Click the "Unplug or Eject Hardware" icon in the task bar and select Stop Nikon SUPER COOLSCAN 9000 ED from the menu that appears. A message will be displayed stating that the scanner can be safely removed from the system; click OK. 4 Turn the scanner off Scanner on Scanner off Ejecting Holders The holder will be ejected automatically if the scanner is turned off and then on again. 41

Eject the holder
Press the eject button on the front of the
scanner or click the eject button in the
control area of the scan window.
