Advanced (Recording pictures) Taking pictures or taking pictures with Burst while recording Motion Pictures Still pictures can be recorded even while recording a motion picture. It is also possible to record with burst. ∫ Taking a still picture while recording a motion picture During motion picture recording, press the shutter button fully to record a still picture. ∫ Burst during motion picture recording 1 Setup burst (P82) before starting motion picture recording. 2 Hold down the shutter button fully while recording motion pictures. • You can set [ 2 ], [ 5 ] and [ 10 ] in Burst Mode.¢ ¢ It is automatically set to [ 2 ] when it is set to [ ], [ 5 ] when it is set to [ ], and [ 10 ] when it is set to [ 11 ], [ 40 ], or [ 60 ]. Note • Recordable pixels and recordable number of pictures are displayed by pressing the shutter button halfway. • Recording of motion picture will continue after taking the still picture. • Recording is performed by the electronic shutter, so the recorded picture may appear warped. • Simultaneously recorded still pictures will be recorded in an aspect ratio of [W], and picture size of [3.5 M]. The picture quality may be different from [3.5 M] of standard pictures. • Up to 40 still pictures can be recorded during recording of the motion picture. • Only JPEG images are recorded when [QUALITY] is set to [ ], [ ] or [ ]. (When set to [ ] or [ ], still pictures will be recorded in [QUALITY] of [A].) • The flash setting is fixed to [Œ]. • Zooming may stop when a picture is recorded while zooming. • Simultaneous recording is not possible in the following cases: - When [MOTION JPEG] is set to [ ] or [ ] - In [HIGH SPEED MOVIE] in Scene Mode - In Creative Motion Picture Mode When set to Intelligent Auto Mode • When Intelligent Auto Mode is selected in step 1 on page 107, motion picture recording matching to the subject or recording situation can be performed. ∫ Scene Detection When the camera identifies the optimum scene, the icon of the scene concerned is displayed in blue for 2 seconds, after which its Color changes to the usual red. ¦> [i-PORTRAIT] [i-SCENERY] [i-LOW LIGHT] [i-MACRO] • [¦] is set if none of the scenes are applicable, and the standard settings are set. • When [ ] is selected, the camera automatically detects a person's face, and it will adjust the focus and exposure.
