Taking Pictures Using the Zoom You can use the zoom to change the captured area. 1 Turn the zoom lever in A mode. Right (x) Enlarges the subject. Left (w) Widens the area that is captured by the camera. If you continue turning the lever to the right Green: Intelligent Zoom 3 (x), the camera automatically switches White: Digital Zoom from optical zoom to Intelligent Zoom and stops at the point it switches to Digital 38 Zoom. Once the lever is released and turned again, the camera switches to Digital Zoom. 1cm 162.5 x The zoom bar is displayed as follows: Zoom in with high image quality 1cm*3 Zoom ratio Zoom bar Zoom in with some degree of image deterioration Optical zoom range*1 Intelligent Digital Zoom Zoom range*2 range *1 You can zoom in to a maximum of 26× optically. *2 The Intelligent Zoom range differs depending on the number of recorded pixels.
