Turning the Camera On and Off Power switch 1 Q Playback button Getting Started 1 Press the power switch. The camera turns on. The lens cover opens and the lens extends when the camera is turned on. 2 Press the power switch again. The camera turns off. Switching between Capture Mode and Playback Mode 1p.46 Taking Pictures 1p.46 Checking the SD Memory Card The SD Memory Card is checked automatically Memory status indicator when the camera is turned on. ? appears on the LCD monitor when a card has been inserted and 4 images and sound are recorded on the card. Y appears instead of ? when the write-protect switch on the SD Memory Card is in the locked position (p.22). Images and sound cannot be 09/10/2005 10:25 recorded, deleted or the card cannot be formatted when the write-protect switch is locked. @ appears when no card has been inserted and images and sounds are recorded in the built-in memory. 25
