H = 4 Selecting the Focus Mode Focus mode (No icon) q r s z Autofocus mode The camera focuses on the object in the autofocus area when the shutter release button is pressed halfway. Use this mode when the distance to the subject is more than 40 cm (16 in.). Macro mode This mode is used when the distance to the subject is approx. 18 cm - 50 cm (7 in. - 20 in.). The camera focuses on the object in the autofocus area when the shutter release button is pressed halfway. Super Macro mode This mode is used when the distance to the subject is approx. 6 cm - 20 cm (2.4 in. - 8 in.). The camera focuses on the object in the autofocus area when the shutter release button is pressed halfway. Infinity-Landscape mode This mode is used for taking distant objects. Manual Focus mode Adjust the focus manually with the four-way controller. 1 Press the four-way controller (5) in Capture mode. The focus mode changes each time the button is pressed and the icon appears on the LCD monitor. The camera is ready to take pictures in the selected focus mode. • The default setting is Autofocus mode. • The zoom is fixed at the middle position and only the digital zoom can be used in Super Macro mode. 68
