Initial Settings menu 09 Dolby Digital Out You only need to make this setting if you connected this player to an AV receiver (or other component) using one of the digital outputs. • Default setting: Dolby Digital Initial Settings If your AV receiver (or other connected component) has a built-in DTS decoder, set this to DTS, otherwise set to DTS > PCM (DTS audio is converted to more compatible PCM audio). Check the manual that came with the other component if you're unsure whether it is DTS compatible. Digital Audio Out Video Output Language Display Options Speakers Digital Out Dolby Digital Out DTS Out Linear PCM Out MPEG Out Dolby Digital Dolby Digital > PCM If your AV receiver (or other connected component) is Dolby Digital compatible, set to Dolby Digital, otherwise set to Dolby Digital > PCM. • When set to Dolby Digital > PCM, the Audio Output Mode on page 66 must be set to 2 Channel to hear any sound from the digital output. DTS Out You only need to make this setting if you connected this player to an AV receiver (or other component) using one of the digital outputs. • Default setting: DTS Initial Settings Digital Audio Out Video Output Language Display Options Speakers Digital Out Dolby Digital Out DTS Out Linear PCM Out MPEG Out DTS DTS > PCM • If you set to DTS with a non-DTS compatible amplifier, noise will be output when you play a DTS disc. • If you've selected DTS > PCM, you can choose how the signal is downmixed to PCM audio. See DTS DownMix on page 66 to change the downmix setting. • When set to DTS > PCM, the Audio Output Mode on page 66 must be set to 2 Channel to hear any sound from the digital output. Linear PCM Out You only need to make this setting if you connected this player to an AV receiver (or other component) using one of the digital outputs. • Default setting: Down Sample On Initial Settings Digital Audio Out Video Output Language Display Options Speakers Digital Out Dolby Digital Out DTS Out Linear PCM Out MPEG Out Down Sample On Down Sample Off If your AV receiver (or other connected component) is compatible with high sampling rates (96 kHz), set this to Down Sample Off, otherwise set it to Down Sample On (96 kHz audio is converted to a more compatible 48 kHz).
