Open the LCD screen to turn on the camcorder. • Your camcorder turns on automatically when you open the LCD screen. • The Time Zone ("Home") screen appears based on Lisbon, London (Greenwich Mean Time). • You can also set your current time zone from the "Settings" menu. page 95 2. Select your local area on the map by touching the left ( ) or right ( ) tab on the LCD screen, then press the ( OK ) tab. • The "Date/Time Set" screen appears. 3. Touch the date and time information, and change the setting values by using the up ( ) or down ( ) tabs. Built-in rechargeable battery • Your camcorder includes a built-in rechargeable battery that retains the date and time settings even after the power is turned off. • Once the battery is depleted, the previous date/time values are all reset to defaults, and you need to recharge the built-in rechargeable battery. The date/time must be set again. • Battery capacity decreases over time and through repeated use. If you find the decreased usage time between charges becomes significant, replace your battery. Charging the built-in rechargeable battery • The built-in battery is always recharged while your camcorder is connected to the AC power or while the battery pack is attached. • If the camcorder is not in use for about 2 weeks without connecting to the AC power or attaching the battery pack, the built-in battery fully discharges. If this occurs, charge the built-in battery by connecting to the supplied AC adaptor for 24 hours. 35

Built-in rechargeable battery
• Your camcorder includes a built-in rechargeable battery that retains the date and time
settings even after the power is turned off.
• Once the battery is depleted, the previous date/time values are all reset to defaults, and
you need to recharge the built-in rechargeable battery. The date/time must be set again.
• Battery capacity decreases over time and through repeated use. If you find the decreased
usage time between charges becomes significant, replace your battery.
Charging the built-in rechargeable battery
• The built-in battery is always recharged while your camcorder is connected to the AC
power or while the battery pack is attached.
• If the camcorder is not in use for about 2 weeks without connecting to the AC power or
attaching the battery pack, the built-in battery fully discharges. If this occurs, charge the
built-in battery by connecting to the supplied AC adaptor for 24 hours.
