Getting Started • Do not block the ventilation slots of the unit (page 8). • Place the front speaker forward from the TV. Make sure there are no reflecting obstacles in front of the speaker. • The front speaker should be pointed straight forward. Do not place the speaker at an angle. To install the front speaker on a wall Caution • Contact a screw shop or installer regarding the wall material or screws to be used. • Use screws that are suitable for the wall material and strength. As a plaster board wall is especially fragile, attach the screws securely to a beam and fasten them to the wall. Install the speaker on a vertical and flat wall where reinforcement is applied. • Be sure to subcontract the installation to Sony dealers or licensed contractors and pay special attention to safety during the installation. • Sony is not responsible for accidents or damage caused by improper installation, insufficient wall strength or improper screw installation, natural calamity, etc. 1 Connect the speaker cord to the front speaker. For details, see "To connect the speaker cord to the front speaker" (page 18). 2 Prepare screws (not supplied) that are suitable for the holes on the back of the speaker. See the illustrations below. 4 mm (1/6 inch) more than 25 mm (1 inch) 5 mm (1/5 inch) 10 mm (2/5 inch) Hole on the back of the speaker Note • The length and type of the screw are examples. Select screws in accordance with the material or strength of the wall to which you install the speaker. 3 Fasten the screws to the wall. The screws should protrude 6 to 7 mm (approx. 1/4 inch). 265 mm (10 2/5 inches) 6 to 7 mm (approx. 1/4 inch) 4 Hang the speaker onto the screws. Align the holes on the back of the speaker to the screws, then hang the speaker onto the two screws. 15US
