The Super Audio CD sound of an equipment that is connected to the HDMI (IN 1) or HDMI (IN 2) jack is not output. t HDMI (IN 1) and HDMI (IN 2) does not accept an audio format that contains copy protection. Connect the analog audio output of the equipment to the AUDIO (AUDIO IN L/R) jacks of the main unit. There is no sound from the TV via the HDMI (OUT) jack when using the Audio Return Channel function. t Set [Control for HDMI] in [HDMI Settings] of [System Settings] to [On] (page 64). Also, set [Audio Return Channel] in [HDMI Settings] of [System Settings] to [Auto] (page 64). t Make sure that your TV is compatible with the Audio Return Channel function. t Make sure that an HDMI cable is connected to a jack on your TV that is compatible with the Audio Return Channel function. The system does not output sound of TV programs correctly when connected to a set-top box. t Set [Audio Return Channel] in [HDMI Settings] of [System Settings] to [Off] (page 64). t Check the connections (page 25). Severe hum or noise is heard. t Move your audio equipment away from the TV. t Clean the disc. The sound loses stereo effect when you play a CD. t Select stereo sound by pressing AUDIO (page 46). The sound outputs from the center speaker only. t Depending on the disc, the sound may output from the center speaker only. No sound or only a very low-level sound is heard from the surround speakers. t Check the speaker connections and settings (pages 22, 51). t Check the sound mode setting (page 33). t Depending on the source, the effect of the surround speakers may be less noticeable. t Set [Sound Mode] to [Auto] (page 33). Distortion occurs in the sound of a connected equipment. t Reduce the input level for the connected equipment by setting [Attenuate - AUDIO] (page 62). A sudden loud music is heard. t The build-in sound demonstration is activated. Press VOL - to reduce the volume or press x to stop the demonstration.
