Troubleshooting Before going through the check list below. first refer back to the applicable connections and operating procedures. Should problem persist after you have checked these items. consult your nearest Sony service facility. The disc tray does not dose. Play does not start. Play begins by turning on the power. No sound is heard. Play does not begin from the first selection. Two or more discs cannot be played consecutively. *-OVER= is displayed. The remote commander does not operate this unit Cause The disc is not placed correctly. The disc is dirty. The disc is inserted upside down. The player isinpause mode. Moisture has condensed. The TIMER switch is set to PLAY. There is a loose connection. The connection is incorrect. The UNE OUT/ PHONE LEVEL (or UNE OUT LEVEL +A- on the remote commander) control is set to the minimum. The player is in program or shuffle play mode. The player is in the 1 DISC mode. 00 wascontinuouslypressedat theend of the disc. The batteries are run down. The remote commander is not pointed at the remote sensor. There is an obstacle between the remote commander and this unit. The remote commander is too far from this unit. Remedy Place the disc correctly on the disc tray. Clean the disc. Insert the disc with the printed side up. Press► orII to release pause. Leave the player on for approximately one hour. Set the TIMER switch to OFF. Insert the plug firmly. Check the connection referring to "Hooking up the system". Turn the control clockwise. Press CONTINUE. Press CONTINUE to choose ALL DISCS mode. Press44orIN toreturntothe normal indication. Replace both batteries. Point the remote commander at the sensor. Remove the obstacle. Move it closer.
