Figure 2-3 The right side of the computer Modem jack In areas where an internal modem is installed as standard equipment, there is a modem jack that allows you to use a modular cable to connect the modem directly to a telephone line. The modem is not supported in some marketing regions. (Provided with some models) DC IN 19V The AC adapter connects to this socket. Use only the model of AC adapter that comes with the computer. Using the wrong adapter can damage your computer. Security lock slot A security cable attaches to this slot. The optional security cable anchors your computer to a desk or other large object to deter theft. Universal serial bus (USB 2.0) ports The two universal serial bus (USB) ports comply with USB 2.0 standards, which enable data transfer speeds 40 times faster than the USB 1.1 standards.
