(for 3x and 5x speed media) This DVD Super Multi (±R DL) drive cannot use discs that allow writing faster than 16x speed (DVD-R and DVD+R media), 8x speed DVD-R (Double layer), DVD+RW, and DVD+R (Double layer) media, 6x speed (DVD-RW media), 5x speed (DVD-RAM media). ■ If the disc is poor in quality, dirty or damaged, writing or rewriting errors may occur. Be careful to check the disc for dirt or damage before you use it. ■ The actual number of rewrites to CD-RW, DVD-RW, DVD+RW or DVDRAM is affected by the quality of the disc and the way it is used. ■ There are two types of DVD-R discs: authoring and general use discs. Do not use authoring discs. Only general use discs can be written to by a computer drive. ■ We can support only format 1 of DVD-R DL. Therefore you can not do the additional writing. If your data is under DVD-R(SL) capacity, we suggest to use DVD-R(SL) media. User's Manual 4-9
