98 Learning the Basics Using the DVD-ROM or multi-function drive Removing a disc with the computer off 1 Insert a slender object, such as a straightened paper clip, into the manual eject hole. Never use a pencil to press the manual eject button. Pencil lead can break off inside the computer and damage it. 2 Gently pull the tray out until it is fully open, remove the disc, and place it in its protective cover. 3 Gently push the tray in to close it. Playing an audio CD Insert an audio CD and close the disc tray. If the computer is turned on, Windows® Media® Player opens and the CD begins to play. You can use the Windows Media Player program to control the CD. To access the Windows Media Player, you can open it through the Start menu or activate it from the taskbar. NOTE When using Windows Media Player, your system may not be able to activate Standby or Hibernation modes. To prevent this from occurring, close Windows Media Player before you select Standby or Hibernation mode.
