94 Connecting Other External Devices Inserting and removing hard disk drives Inserting and removing hard disk drives Your computer can use hard disk drives (HDD) with various capacities. Depending upon the original HDD installed in your computer, you may wish to increase storage capacity by changing the internal drive, or you can add additional HDD space by inserting a drive into the select bay module. To change the internal HDD. 1 Save your work, then shut down your computer completely using the Shut down or Turn Off command. See "Turning off the computer" on page 72. 2 Close the display panel and remove all cables connected to the computer, including the AC adapter. 3 Turn the computer upside down. 4 Remove the battery. For information on removing the battery, see "Changing the main battery" on page 144. 5 Remove the screw on the HDD bay cover. Sample removing the HDD bay cover screw 6 Remove the HDD bay cover to expose the HDD. 7 Locate the plastic tab on the edge of the HDD.
