My calls fade out, cordless handset.

Appendix Troubleshooting Problem There is interference during a telephone conversation. My calls fade out when I am using the cordless handset. Suggestion • The handset may be out of range. Move it closer to the telephone base. • If you subscribe to high-speed Internet service (Digital Subscriber Line - DSL) through your telephone lines, you must install a DSL filter between the telephone base and the telephone wall jack. The filter will prevent noise and caller ID problems caused by DSL interference. Please contact your DSL service provider for more information about DSL filters. • Appliances or other cordless telephones plugged into the same circuit as the telephone base can cause interference. Try moving the appliance or telephone base to another outlet. • Other electronic products can cause interference to your cordless telephone. Try installing your telephone as far away as possible from the following electronic devices: wireless routers, radios, radio towers, pager towers, cellular telephones, digital telephones, intercoms, room monitors, televisions, VCRs, personal computers, kitchen appliances, and other cordless telephones. • If your telephone is plugged in with a modem or a surge protector, plug the telephone (or modem/surge protector) into a different location. If this doesn't solve the problem, re-locate your telephone or modem farther apart from each other, or use a different surge protector. • The location of your telephone base can impact the performance of your cordless phone. For better reception, install the telephone base in a centralized location within your home or office, away from walls or other obstructions. In many environments, elevating the telephone base will improve overall performance. • Disconnect the telephone base from the telephone wall jack and plug in a corded telephone. If calls are still not clear, the problem is probably in the wiring or local service. Contact your local service company (charges may apply). • If the other telephones in your home are having the same problem, the problem is in the wiring or local service. Contact the local telephone company (charges may apply). Appendix www.vtechphones.com 59

Suggest±on
There ±s ±nterference

conversat±on.
My calls fade out
when I am us±ng the
cordless handset.
The handset may be out of range. Move ±t closer to the telephone base.
If you subscr±be to h±gh-speed Internet serv±ce (D±g±tal Subscr±ber L±ne - DSL) through your

jack. The filter will prevent noise and caller ID problems caused by DSL interference. Please
contact your DSL service provider for more information about DSL filters.
Appl±ances or other cordless telephones plugged ±nto the same c±rcu±t as the telephone base
can cause ±nterference. Try mov±ng the appl±ance or telephone base to another outlet.
Other electron±c products can cause ±nterference to your cordless telephone. Try ±nstall±ng your
telephone as far away as poss±ble from the follow±ng electron±c dev±ces: w±reless routers, rad±os,
rad±o towers, pager towers, cellular telephones, d±g±tal telephones, ±ntercoms, room mon±tors,
telev±s±ons, VCRs, personal computers, k±tchen appl±ances, and other cordless telephones.
If your telephone ±s plugged ±n w±th a modem or a surge protector, plug the telephone (or
modem/surge protector) ±nto a d±fferent locat±on. If th±s doesn’t solve the problem, re-locate
your telephone or modem farther apart from each other, or use a d±fferent surge protector.
The locat±on of your telephone base can ±mpact the performance of your cordless phone. For
better reception, install the telephone base in a centralized location within your home or office,
away from walls or other obstruct±ons. In many env±ronments, elevat±ng the telephone base
w±ll ±mprove overall performance.
Disconnect the telephone base from the telephone wall jack and plug in a corded telephone.
If calls are st±ll not clear, the problem ±s probably ±n the w±r±ng or local serv±ce. Contact your
local serv±ce company (charges may apply).
If the other telephones ±n your home are hav±ng the same problem, the problem ±s ±n the w±r±ng
or local serv±ce. Contact the local telephone company (charges may apply).
