Starting Up Starting Up This section explains how to set up and start using your instrument. Setup is so simple, you can start playing right away. Turning the power on or off 1 Connect the plugs of the AC adaptor and the power cord in the order shown in the illustration. 1-2 DC plug DC IN jack (page 13) AC outlet 1-3 1-1 AC adaptor Power cord AC plug The shape of the plug and outlet differ depending on the particular locale. WARNING Use the specified AC adaptor (page 35) only. Using the wrong AC adaptor can result in damage to the instrument or overheating. CAUTION When setting up the product, make sure that the AC outlet you are using is easily accessible. If some trouble or malfunction occurs, immediately turn the power off and disconnect the plug from the outlet. NOTE When disconnecting the power cord/AC adaptor, first turn off the power, and then follow this procedure in reverse order. 2 Turn down the [MASTER VOLUME] slider to "MIN." 3 Power indicator 2 3 Press the [1] (Standby/On) switch to turn the power on. The power indicator on the [1] (Standby/On) switch lights up, and the control buttons appear. 4 Adjust the volume. Play the keyboard to produce sound and turn up the [MASTER VOLUME] slider slowly while you adjust the volume. 14 P-S500 Owner's Manual
